  1. Well I'm glad you have that capacity, not everyone does. I'm saying all this as a professional linguist who speaks four languages fluently. My completely monolingual parents are older did sign up for classes but just couldn't retain it. Honestly, they are entitled to their own lives, I don't expect them to spend all their free time on something to benefit me, when they didn't choose it. Life doesn't have to be a struggle for elderly people who've worked hard their whole lives and what they'd gain is speaking to someone maybe four days a year. In any case my dad has now had a stroke and has serious cognitive problems. My partner is another matter, and if he learned they would have no need to, that is the problem.

  2. Agreeing with all the others here.

You are either in a monogamous relationship. Or you aren’t.

A hall pass is generally a bad idea. Especially if you’re a strong “no” feelings about it beforehand.

Op, ultimately only you can decide the right path to choose for you. But the fact that too comments on here are from people from all sides of the aisle (straight, bi, gay, poly) are all saying hell no should be a strong indicator.

Id put it to your wife this way: “it’s like me saying hey, I’ve never experienced (fill in the fantasy blank here. Redhead. Asian. Whatever floats your boat that she can’t fulfill)”. Or being curious about a girl with small breasts/big breasts/ thin/buxom/small ass/big ass/etc. it’s ok for me to satisfy my curiosity. Right? Right???

If that clues her in maybe you’ve got a chance. But I wouldn’t be bringing kids into the world anytime soon until she’s reconciled being monogamous in her brain. If she agrees to that “yeah go for it!” I’d be put the door.

  3. She isn’t just “angry” about it. She was triggered and she’s a survivor of trauma. OP considers her responses to her trauma as being “her vs the world” which is part of the problem. Plus she’s a new mom and probably busy as hell with the baby while OP’s off recording a podcast.

  4. Wow. I hope you get to the bottom of this. Is it possible she’s a long lost daughter from a previous relationship or affair? I guess it makes no sense to speculate but the ages kinda work.

  5. 1) You dont trust him 2) You feel the need to play detective to “prove” he is cheating

If you find proof that he is cheating, you will most likely want to split up.

If you can't prove he is cheating, you still distrust him, so you should split up

Why work so hard to stay with someone who you don't trust?

  6. you posted this, what, yesterday? why do you think reposting it will get you the response you want? everyone agreed with your family and psychologist.

  7. You are going to have to provide more context, there isn’t enough here to know what is going on, so it just make it sound like you are over reacting.

  8. Sometimes something can be wrong, then you add even more factors that make it even more egregious.

Doesn't always have to mean it's only wrong for these extra given reasons.
