hell nah
This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's an admission that he knew the child had ingested drugs.
Because she respects you and doesn't want to hide things from you?
Does she say it in a weird way?
Describe the elements of human nature to me.
Holding your alcohol well doesn't mean your judgment is at 100% either, to play devils advocate
My motivations for doing this are based on that I have pretty large genetic history on both side of my family such as cancer (both breast/ovarian +blood clotting disorders on my mother's side and heart disease, crohns and prostate cancer on my father's side) all of which I am concerned about passing down to my children.
I mean…fair enough for any potential health issues, however, DNA testing like 23&me etc. comes with a lot of potential ethical questions….and most parents shouldn't decide doing this over the head of their kids.
My second motivation is that I would like my children to be able to learn about, embrace and celebrate all aspects of their heritages. I know for certain what my history is (Scandinavian, Scottish and Irish), and we know FIL is part Native American (though the exact details on which tribe/peoples were lost when FIL's mother passed) so I would like to connect my future children to their family history.
Again…it could easily be argued that your kids, once they're adults, could make this decision for themselves. You can simply celebrate your and your husband's direct family history…..
My kids were born in the early 2000s and Paternity testing wasn't as common and was expensive, but as soon as they were available, we all did Ancestry DNA tests.
