Honestly, even if you do a paternity test and it is your kid will you be able to overlook the circumstances surrounding conception? Thinking this child is a rape baby then finding out it's not may only be slightly relieving. You would still be inundated with the thoughts that this man violated your wife and your baby and while that's not their fault, it's something you have to deal with. This is an impossible situation.
Someone out there will love this child unconditionally, but it's probably not you and your wife.
These dogs are basically puppies still, and training just takes more time. It's something that continues all throughout the dogs life. And i don't think that the dog grabbing something to chew on would constitute as dogs running the house. As a dog owner, you don't leave stuff out within reach of your young dog. A nine year old is old enough to realise that young dogs will find anything to chew on.
I come from a culture where it is traditional to look after your parents – indeed there's a chance it's the same or a very similar one to your own. And there are many people from this culture that would say you deserve it – that your didn't raise her, told her not to refer to you as her mother, she had an awful childhood, largely supported herself from a young age and you blatantly favored her brother and therefore she has no obligations to you. There are plenty of people from this culture who, if she were the one asking for advice, would tell her to give you no money. So don't hide behind “culture” and don't blame her husband's culture.
