You are acting responsibly. Rushing into a relationship and parenthood is not responsible. You are fully aware that you're not ready to have kids or commit for many reasons. It may not align with her vision but that doesn't make it irresponsible. She's the one acting rashly and irresponsibly. My husband is also an immigrant and he's on a similar path as your girlfriend. We've discussed kids and all that and we're on the same page — we want them eventually but we agree we are absolutely not ready for them yet. I know this sounds terrible, but it could be possible she's just using you to get status here. Being married to a citizen and having a kid here would fast track her in that regard. Obviously I don't suspect this but I know some who this has happened to so it's not out of the question. That terrible idea aside, assuming it's not it just seems like your goals ultimately don't match and you're therefore not compatible. I'd reevaluate the relationship and consider moving on.
