Your partner should NOT be your everything. They should be important, sure. You should love them and grow with them, yes. But her saying you only need her, in whatever manner she said it (saw your edit) is unimaginably toxic. Getting as far away from someone who takes scissors to any part of you or things connected to you while you're sleeping.

A traumatic birth and then all that pain and clearly no serious help from the father would drive any woman to her limits. A lack of sleep really makes it hard too.
