I don’t think you do know. I didn’t want children until I was 35 and then I thought maybe I could have one. And then at 41 I had one. Nick changed my life for the better. I was never the same person. In a good way I was more mature and more loving and healed me in ways that I didn’t even know I was broken. It makes your face a lot of your fears, so can be difficult at times too
First I want to say I’m so sorry for your heartache. That is a long time to be with someone thinking you’ll always be together. As for when you should start dating again, honestly it’s when your heart heals. Keep up the therapy it will truly help. You’ll know when it’s time, but sometimes we jump in too early, if you feel that step back again and give it some more time. Working on yourself and your healing will help you be the best version of yourself for your next chapter.
