There’s nothing wrong with you. You recognized it might be an issue, granted it was after the fact, but people miss or forget things all the time. So talk to him, make sure you understand his boundaries, and next time keep that in mind when you socialize, and you’ll be fine.

My boyfriend wanted a short girl like less than 5ft but instead he got a half giant with me. I still tease him about it if I see a short video game character he likes but I don't let it affect me or make me insecure because too bad he got me! I wouldn't let it affect you. If he REALLY was hunting for a different look then he would have to leave. Don't let it make you insecure, people have wants but sometimes find love where they least expect it.
From the sound of it you have a strong victim mentality. I think that might be the underlying issue. My advice would be to upskill, find better companies and a new job, I can tell you right now if any one of my orgs behaved the way the companies you are working for behave then most of my staff would quit. My staff aren’t victims and if I or the managers tried to victimize them, they would leave and we foster that culture. They keep the managers and C-suit member accountable the same way we are expected to keep the employees accountable.
When you move jobs look for the culture of the org not just the pay and terms and stuff like that. The price of a bad culture is waaaaay more than the bill you will get from a low paying job. As you can see, that culture is taking advantage of a learned behavior you have and it’s bleeding into your personal life.
It sounds like you’re a hard-working and capable person. Find a company that deserves to have you, step up for them, and step up for your family. You seem to have all the pieces, you just need to arrange them correctly.
