No, probably not but you need to tell your friends and you need to make this public. It creating an awkward situation shouldn't be what stops you from exposing him for being a creep, if anything it's a great shit test to know who you need to cut out of your life if any of your friends are ok with how he's acting.

If he's still creeping on you even after you blocked him, you should escalate this to police or some kind of authoritative body within the school. A lot of times they're shit and don't do anything but you creating an official history of continued harassment and a paper trail will help you more legally in the long term if you ever need it but hopefully not.
