Nigeria isn't a matriarchal society and men are still almost always the head of the family. Women being educated doesn't change the fact that Nigerian society is still very patriarichal… It has gotten a lot better, and Nigeria is definitely one of the best out of the African countries, but to act as if the culture itself is not misogynistic is a bit absurd. It's not just a stereotypical narrative. I'm Yoruba btw.
And it's not like Nigeria is uniquely misogynistic either. It's still better than most developing countries when it comes to this. But it's okay to acknowledge that the culture itself has its own problems instead of just attributing them to stereotypes.
