For me, it’s when you realize you keep having the same problems over and over again.
When you have talked about these issues exhaustively but the solutions either never work or one of you is unwilling to do them. When the issue is something that you realistically can’t compromise on just because of who you or they are. When you realize what you want/need can’t realistically be met by the relationship.
If it’s just a strange or low phase of the relationship and you haven’t really done anything about it then communicate and try to resolve it. These things pass. But again, if this is a cycle and all the plays have been made, then it’s time to end it.
I don't know why you're getting downvoted OP. We live in a society that refuses to make men accountable for how they treat women. You have every right to expect to be treated with care and respect by someone who led you to bepieve he's your boyfriend.
