Absolutely understand no plus ones. But I don't understand how he wouldn't know about it. I figured he had rsvpd already, and didn't just assume I could come. Maybe the mother was unaware as well but I find it a bit odd she asked if I was going. I actually wasn't invited at the time she asked, so I said no and that I hadn't been asked. Her reply was “oh don't worry, he will”.
