I’m not sure he was being toxic. We don’t always process emotions linearly. There are often twists and turns and reverses. Sometimes problems require multiple conversations. Healing can be repetitive. I can see though how the effects have toxic repercussions. So your not wrong in feeling the way you do. But it’s really hard to fault him for experiencing emotions (some contradictory) as we all do. I really don’t think either of you owe each other any more apologies about this.
