I can understand the initial reaction. But once it's real:
Hey sorry, I understand this is serious, but when you said a serious conversation I was expecting something terrible like that you were dying or that you killed someone in the past, not that you were a furry. That changes absolutely nothing between us, and I'm happy you felt comfortable to share that with me, I'm sorry with how I responded.
