When my mom got cancer, I dropped everything and moved across the country to be with her and my family. My older sister did not. Instead, she prioritized her career and only came to visit once. My mother passed away maybe 7 months after her diagnosis. I know my mother was sad that my sister didn't spend more time with her. I have not forgiven my sister for that, and probably never will. I don't know how similar your situation is to mine, but I do know that once mom is gone she doesn't come back. There are no re-dos, so make sure your priorities are correct.
