It's really tough when a couple is fighting. All the surrounding family and friends don't know how to be supportive without meddling. It sounds like they decided to give you space to figure things out. They don't need to stop seeing their family member just because you're having an issue with him. That would turn it into a huge family fight. You're overthinking things.
