I agree, and I understand why he is at that point. I wish that I never led us here. I know that apologizing won't be enough, but I was hoping changed behavior would be. I don't really think breaking up with someone takes energy – wouldn't it take a lot more energy to stay in the relationship? Wouldn't that free him immediately, no more energy needed? That bit just doesn't make a lot of sense to me – while I don't want him to leave, he has had the option to if that's what he wants. He's told me repeatedly that he's never going to leave me, and it's really confusing. I have learned my lesson though.
