Signing the rights away is standard practice, especially for newb photographers who are probably using some contract they found online.
The photographer owns the pictures anyway, and legally it’s hard to dispute their ownership even if the client insists on sole ownership.
Btw sole ownership by client is ALSO standard, but requires agreement and an exclusive contract. It’s not automatic , people think that a picture of them is owned by them. It’s not.
And any newb Photog who’s quick to get his friend’s wife totally nude is not the type to offer to give away his rights.
Photog definitely took advantage of the situation more than she did.
