Exactly, that’s why effective communication is SO important. I have a BA in psychology, an MSW specializing in family mental health, I’ve been remarried for 16 years, and I still don’t always get it right when I assume I know what my husband’s perceptions and feelings are. (I mean I’m pretty damn good at it, but I’m certainly far from 100%.)
You can try to make it work, but if you do there need to be changes. It doesn't matter her friend has no romantic or sexual relations with her. He needs to also act like he hasn't. This means no spending nights together unless you are also involved. If she wants to habg out with thar's fine, but not at a codt of your time together. Your time together means time together without him.
I don't know if there is something more to their relation, if you don't want to put effort to make your relationship with her eork you can break up sure.

Why should you do the emotional labor to ‘fix’ him? He is an adult. He is capable of realizing it is wrong to stereotype an entire group based on some members. After all, it’s not reasonable judge all men on Ted Bundy. He has to have sexist beliefs to begin with to go in this direction.
Rejection is part of dating. If he gets rejected repeatedly, maybe he is the common denominator. Maybe he is doing something that can easily be corrected, like bragging about himself too much. But maybe these women sense his underlying emotional immaturity and attitudes towards women.
If someone has a lot of dating red flags, I have a rule against helping them get better at dating. Some people don’t belong in relationships, until they get their issues sorted.
