I think those are all really good points, and you are right about the new relationship energy with the new guy having being new and exciting, I've thought about that a lot. I would much rather achieve feeling appreciated/cared for within the relationship than with somebody else and I have no doubt that my boyfriend is irritated that I am asking him for these things after feeling them with somebody. I am struggling to see how we can move on from this place in our relationship though without him putting in the effort and showing me that he will continue to do so for the next many years.
