Dude, I wish I’d have remotely the same options in life that you have. Everything I own is in a backpack and I’m just trying to not sleep under a bridge. If your biggest worry in life is how online people perceive you, you don’t have any worries at all mate.
This subreddit proves, that never giving blind trust is a good idea. Spying on your partner is bad in principle, but it doesn't come close to infidelity, which spying is the most common way to discover. How bad these two are, are in two different leagues.
This is the same principle, making it natural, and “usual” thing to do regardless of context, would reduce its association with being an “accusation” while protecting those that are too trusting for their own good.
