I told him the same thing, that I wanted to be treated like a girlfriend and not like a mom, he said that he’s trying to get over the traumas but he told me “not everybody can pick themselves up after they fall as fast as you”. I feel like threatening to throw him out and make him go live at home makes me an asshole because then I’m actively forcing him back to a place that gave him traumas.
Listen to your gut. Dont worry about coming off rude or protective. Its your child! They only care about their best self interest and you should do the same. Protect your kid!

You’re giving him WAY too much power over you and your anxiety, power he doesn’t deserve. Your ideas were thoughtful and took his wants into account, you listened to him and that shows your dedication and love. But this guy sucks. He isn’t worthy of your thoughtfulness. Dump him.
