Sounds like you need to sit down with your partner and talk ethics and boundaries with his businesses. You're involved and his wife is involved along with work. He needs to know his limits and yours. My fil is going through a nasty “break up” with his farming partner after years of red flags. We called it from the get go it wouldn't be good. Bad behavior is a side of business that is swept under the rug.
