Because he’s not an infant. He’s 20. Why would I think back to his baby yrs? I wasn’t crushing on him as an infant. That would be disgusting yes. But I met him when he’s 20 yrs old, not 20 months old. There’s no reason to think back to the past when it has nothing to do with now. Also why care since he is legal and happy? How is he being harmed? He chose me and chased me and can choose who he wants and understands what makes him happy. No one preyed on anyone lol. We just click and that’s it.
You seem to think people jump straight into physical cheating like emotional cheating isn't a thing. I've already said this is about optics, not rationality, which a lot of people here are using to completely justify OP's lunch meetings. The reality is, good intentions and rational behaviour don't necessarily prevent hurt, miscommunication, misrepresentation, misunderstanding, and loss of trust. OP's wife is losing trust in him. Yes, she needs help to rebuild that trust in herself, her husband, and their relationship. There are also things OP can do, as someone who wants their spouse's trust, to help her get there. Do these meetings really need to happen over takeaway lunch in his office (which feels more informal and can lead to unrelated chit-chat in more privacy than a cafeteria) instead of a normal meeting during work hours?
