It’s a legit question. My kids and I are a package deal, we go together or not at all. It’s natural to wonder, especially why she would be wanting to get pregnant again if she isn’t with her other two kids. If she were doing it to save enough to get them to the same country she’s in then she wouldn’t be wanting to spend that money on another child unless she expects OP to pay for everything and that might also be concerning to OP. There are of course circumstances that are out of our control, but MOST mothers would die before they left their kids behind.
As a mother I will say, OP, it is not natural for a woman with children of her own to not know when she is tormenting a child. Seems very suspicious and I think you are right to be concerned. Also, how did the child’s parent react?

OP’s wife sounds hella judgmental and even sort of snobby. (Lol, there’s my assumption.) The dad did his time. He’s out now. Let him be loved and live a life.
It doesn’t sound like the dad is a danger to his grandkids, though I’m not a parent so can’t relate to that dynamic. Maybe I would understand the wife’s perspective better if I were a mom.
Regardless, though, her to be upset about OP spending time with his father himself.
She could probably benefit from examining her values, confronting her biases, and developing her capacity for empathy.
Congrats on your father’s release, OP. I hope his adjustment to life outside prison is as smooth as it can be, and that he finds joy and fulfillment going forward. I’m glad he has a support system in you, and that you’re teaching your sons about empathy and forgiveness.
