I don’t think this is going to get better. In fact, I think as more and more of the realities and stressors of life settle in—as they do past 25–her paranoia will only get worse. It’s a control mechanism for her. She may not think of it as manipulative in that way, but controlling you with extreme requests to prove yourself is a means she’s found to sooth her anxiety. It’ll almost certain to escalate. It’s a form of manipulation and emotional abuse and you should trust your instincts—they’re solid.
If this sounds extreme, I wish it were, but I’ve known people who wound up marrying and having kids with someone like this and it’s always pretty miserable.
I hope she can figure out how to work through her own issues, but it might take you leaving the relationship and being very clear about why. But you should move on. Sorry, OP. Enjoy some independence before jumping into a new relationship.
