Abuse does heavy damage. It seems that whatever he's done to you has you in a hold and I do not claim to know everything at all when it comes to abuse, but you show signs of a victim of it. I think the problem at hand isn't that you rushed into a new relationship. I think the problem is that you are seeking help in the wrong places, the new guy, without putting true effort into healing yourself.
