Personally, this difference of opinion isn't a deal breaker to me. I think if he was actively campaigning this point and voting politically to ensure this view was law then I'd be more concerned. Morally, I don't think he's wrong for thinking this way. This is how his morality is set up based on his understandings of life and death. Yours is set up a different way. I don't think anyone truly has the right answer on this topic. At least not at this point in time.
