He's teaching you how to treat him and so far he's been successful ….you have learned that he is more important than you. That he has money for golf because he's saved what he could have spent on even token gifts for you on special occasions. He's been successful in that you are letting him get away with that behaviour. Are you buying gifts, cards, etc for him on his bday etc? If so, stop and save that $$ for when you decide you've had enough of him and his narcissistic behaviour. Personally I'd sit him down and talk honestly with him about his behaviour and why you are not going to take much more of it. Maybe he'll realize the error of his ways..if not, start salting money away for your exit strategy.

I grew up in a similar culture. Always support your parents no matter what yada yada yada. I always gave her some slack cause my mother grew up in our home country till she was a adult so while I know she as well is like this cause of how she grew up I don’t excuse it.
Think of yourself first and what kind of relationship you want to have with her. If you don’t wanna do something then just don’t. You’re not selfish for choosing yourself and only doing stuff you wanna do
