Right? All of the advice responses, implying she did anything wrong, is fucking wild to me. How many of these people have done an extended solo backpacking trip? Connecting with locals is a huge part of it.

Thats enough to be bf/gf in the short term, but the reality is in a serious, long term relationship that isnt enough. Balance is important and it sounds like you have someone who is kind of a bum with a good personality. The more serious things get, the higher the standards are and thats just normal because the responsibilities increase. You can't expect teenage dating standards when you live together, have kids, and need to pay bills. Responsibilites are part of serious relationships and thats also a common reason for breakups. When someone can't grow up and be responsible enough to be in a serious relationship. He is 28 and not a kid anymore. Jumping around jobs, quitting easily, and just having no drive for a career to me is not someone reliable or ready to handle more responsibility like leases and bills. If you don't mind being at this level of relationship then stay. But if you expect more then don't bother wasting your time in this cycle.
They make these travel locks, meant for addition to hotel doors, that add an additional lock to the door from the inside. As well as these little battery powered door stops that blast an alarm if a door is jammed against them.
For less than $20, you can secure yourself a little better into your bedroom/bathroom if he's around while you're showering or changing or god-forbid sleeping. I wouldn't put it past him to “accidentally” go into a room you're inside.
Don't discount other advice in this thread, but keep yourself safer than you need too.
