That's a good way to go. He has been trying to remain neutral just asking me and his sister to be the bigger person and talk to each other, I've been ok with it for the past month, but now his mom is bringing up unrelated things that upset her about me so it's tricky for him not to stray from the point. Some things that made her disappointed in me: she went to live with me and her daughter for a month last year and ended up staying for 4 months, after the first month when I saw she would be there indefinitely I asked my SIL to start splitting the bills for 3 since SIL receives the rent for MIL house and that would cover her part of the bills (SIL mentioned to her mom I was charging her for it). During her stay we had a thanksgiving dinner where a couple of friends traveled to be with us for dinner, in her view I forbade everybody to bring guests to the dinner and went ahead to invite these 2 friends and my brother. It's just too much for me to try and fix with her because it's based on her emotions instead of facts. but I'll ask him to try and explain it to her.
