I’d never shame someone for dating beyond their age, but it typically works out best when the youngest is in their 30’s or 40’s, not 20’s. You can’t see it now, but the gap from 20 – 40 is enormous in terms of lived experience. Guys in their 40’s are either settled down and stable, both emotionally and financially, or they aren’t and they are looking to compensate for massive insecurities in one way or another. Sounds like your boyfriend is the latter and you are a prop in his stage show of insecurities.

I think you're just being yourself. As you've noted, she has different standards for herself and for you. That's what I meant in writing about a difference in expectations.

How do you talk to him about it? You certainly don't make it about you and how you're feeling sad. Be compassionate and help him though his grief, as if it's a mother or sister that died.
The time to talk about your over all feelings about this situation is later. Just be a human being and help him cope with the loss.
Being smart and intelligent are VERY different things. I'm a US Citizen living in Europe and I wouldn't dream of “correcting” someone for pronouncing something different than I did. (What entitlement and ignorance and disrespect for others!!!)
