I’m just like OPs partner, but I get where they’re coming from as well. For OP, it’s probably really comforting to have her mother in her home, a place she feels like most laid back. It’s almost the exact opposite circumstances or feelings her partner has regarding it.
I struggle to agree that the solution is for her to completely accommodate him. This is one of those situations that truly sucks sometimes.
Something to consider is if OPs parents never plan on moving closer. They would most likely visit a lot more and not be easily shoo’d off like her in-laws.
I don’t really have any super strong suggestions other than OP should have a good heart-to-heart with their partner. Hopefully sympathize where they’re coming from instead of feeling put out. If you come at it solution orientated and with an air of understanding they may be able to brainstorm some solutions.

While I agree with everything you said, I think there's some things to consider. She's known the guy for like… a few months, and yet, he's already coming to her about his relationship issues. Honestly, while I'm not saying the other guy is bad, I wouldn't completely discount the possibility that he's trying to see if he has a plan b in case things in his relationship get worse. I don't know about other people, but I wouldn't be going to someone I knew for only a few months about my relationship issues. I barely like to crack that door open with people I've known for years.
