You are not being selfish, he is. You clearly told him you didn't want to do something and he did it anyway. He violated your boundaries, of course you feel upset. He shouldn't have done what he did, and if he really can't understand why you're upset, I don't think he deserves your trust. He did something to you he didn't want – how can he not understand you are a person with feelings?
Are you serious? She's known him for 4 years. She knows whether there are sparks or not. He's shown he doesn't respect a no, so how do you think it's going to go if she goes on the date, confirms what she already knows and says “no”? He'll likely flip out because she's a “tease”, insist she should just give it a chance regardless of her feelings and then either stalk her agreesively because – as he's shown – he thinks she doesn't know what's best for her. Or, he'll trash her to everyone they know and say all she needs to do is just give him a chance (again) for him to stop. Let me quote one guy I knew like this: “once you realize how stupid you are, I'll be here waiting”. The rest of the letter was followed a pattern of insulting and belittling me followed by compliments.
That's terrible advice.
