Being insecure in a relationship doesn't necessarily have to lead to a break up, but you need to get this under control, preferably with the help of a therapist, so you can work through this and it won't be a problem always popping up in the future.

I have been through something like this. But I haven’t ridiculed you. A lot of people here have as well. (After a while you start to see a lot of the same folks) I don’t think it is right or fair to ridicule or attack domestic violence victims. That’s not a way to help. But I do see a lot of people here who sincerely are very worried about you. I don’t blame them.
