Being upset with someone and not wanting to perform acts of service like cooking, laundry, and cleaning up after them, seems reasonable.
Maybe depends upon what the argument was about. But it just feels icky to have to “serve” someone who disrespected you and you are unhappy with.
While you wouldn’t just not feed your kids because they upset you, your spouse is an adult. This adult is presumably capable of making a sandwich or heating up leftovers. If the fight is big enough, they’d be a fool to expect someone to cater to them.
My family wasn't upper middle class. We went to Wisconsin Dells two times when I was a kid and that was it. Had never been on a plane. I didn't feel like I missed out on anything.
As I got older, I found people assuming my family was wealthy because I'm white (even though my dad was also an immigrant, just not from a Spanish speaking country). I internalized it because we never went without food or worried about housing. Then I found out that a good portion of the people saying that shit went on a ton of international vacations and their families owned multiple properties, some were even gifted a house. They literally assumed that class and ethnicity were the same thing, and if this is what they had as a Hispanic who perceived themselves as poor, then my family must have countless commercial and residential properties and millions in the bank. Lol. Not quite, sorry.
