I dont believe you can generalize age differences in relationships as some will work out just fine were others wont depending on personalities. One thing studying human behavior for over 30 years has taught me, you cant generalize peoples behavior so I would suggest giving it a try and see if it works for you both but keep an eye out for any red flags such as controlling behavior.
