I think what people mean is that with a genuine friend that you've known for years, yeah you might not know their exact birthday but there's an assumption that you'll have got them gifts in the past, been out for birthday drinks, etc so if they were lying about their birthday you would still know even if you don't exactly know their birthday.
Plus the whole lying about her birthday in the first place is very weird, all of this sounds more complicated than it's worth.
If you do stay with a lying, cheating man and say yourself that you will probably not get over the stuff he did, I really doubt that you have enough selfworth… My advice is to look for someone that is not like him…
This seems unlike her, because she has been hiding this side of herself from you. You made her hurt, so she tried to hurt you back. You'll be happier single. And when you're 26, and you meet 18 year olds, you'll understand why she isn't dating someone closer to her age.
I pretty sure that the son and DIL talked about it. I think the DILs mother is considering moving there too. If that happens, I wonder how all that will work out, I hope it does all work out for benefit of the grandchild.
