  1. Hello /u/Mean_Painter_7854,

Your post was removed for the following reason(s):

Your title did not include at least two ages/genders or was not formatted correctly

    Posts must:

include details about the involved parties including ages, genders, and length of relationship, and

request advice in real situations involving two or more people

We are enforcing the two rules listed above by making all titles use the following formatting:

[##X][##X], [## X][## X], or [##-X][##-X] where ## is the age and X is the gender (currently M, F, T, A, NB, FTM, MTF but more can be added). You can have more than two ages/genders listed, but you must have at least two. Here is an example:

[34NB][88-F] We are two people in an example post

Please resubmit with a corrected title.

  2. Sadly that's a strawman argument.

Class A heroine isn't even in the same universe as class C cannabis. It also has nowhere near the same culture or proliferation as cannabis.

Let's compare apples and apples shall we.

Alcohol, tobacco, weed, certain strength pain kills. All fine in my book.

Heroine, meth, crack is non comparable.

I don't care who FEELS they are the same. Feelings aren't facts nor science. Feelings are nothing but the judgement of others.

So my answer, in summary, is to do better than logical fallacy. Come at me with an actual reason weed isnt okay but alcohol is.

  3. You are to young for him an adult should not be dating a child.

For depression see a therapist, that is what they get paid for.

  4. I think you need to take a step back and give him space. None of this has anything to do with you and you’re selfishly making it about you.

After four years, you finally wore him down and pressured him to meet his parents. Thinking, somehow, whatever their issues were that you – a 24 year old with zero background apparently about the nature of their relations, could resolve their conflicts.

You’ve now learned that his parents are assholes, and likely were abusive if his dad is so casually and easily pushing his kid to the ground.

There is a reason why at 18 he cut contact with his family and that they don’t know about his life. He likely has a book full of good reasons as to why he doesn’t have a relationship with his parents.

It’s unfortunate this has happened and that this has reopened wounds within your bf.

The only thing you should do is respect his wishes for space. He’s hurt by the reaction from his parents.

This isn’t about you, so let him come to terms with it in his own time.

Lesson learned – do NOT push people on their boundaries. The boundaries are created and used for self protection. Respect your boyfriend, or any other person in your life, and his/their boundaries in the future.

  5. I wonder, is there no way to work on this while being in the relationship? I just don’t know how to bring this up. “Sorry, can’t be with you because I’m insecure.” You know what I mean? This is the first and only thing in the relationship that is bothering me, I would hope there’s some way I can manage this without ending it. I can’t imagine how I’d get experience otherwise. But thank you for the advice.
