OP. There is no excuse for anyone being ignorant about pregnancy/postpartum IF THEY ARE INVOLVES IN IT. Your husband is a tether. His ignorance is willful and inexcusable. Unless you had this baby with no medical assistance, your husband had access to literature, resources, and expertise for questions. Let alone what can be found online.

You sound like you’re really making an effort. But having gift cards and feeling like you can make time for yourself are two very different things. My husband does loads for me and the toddler. The one thing I rarely get though is time for just me (where husband takes himself and little one out and just leaves me alone) and time together like date time.
By the sounds of it, you’re wife is similar (otherwise why would she have so many gift cards instead of actually having the massages!).
The lack of intimacy is usually obvious, as in the random touch or cuddles, remembering to make a conversation here or there entirely about her day, telling each other how you feel about them. (And if this isn’t something youre doing time to get some physical interactions that are not about sex, it makes a big difference!)
But sometimes what isn’t obvious is giving your wife a period of time when she can do anything that was pre kids. Whether it be to go buy some clothes. Last time my husband took the kid out I organised bits of my home that had been bugging me in forever. But if it’s not reasonably regular when do you ever get to the part where you remember you’re a woman in you’re own right and not just a mother / wife / house manager / job!

Honestly reading this my first thought was that’s good advice. I know nobody here knows me and nobody has to believe anything I say, but this is true. I wanted to post this on here to get different perspectives because my family’s perspective vs my girlfriends is so different. I wish I was making this story up so that way when I go home I don’t have to ignore my dad and feel uncomfortable in my own house. Your response really opens my eyes to how bad this situation is and comes off.
