You shouldn’t be in a relationship with each other. One of you needs to pull the bandaid.
Unintended consequences.
Unfortunately you will either have to trust him, and let him go and travel, and if your trust is well placed, he will still have a good time, without cheating, or you will need to end the relationship.
If you try to force him to stay behind, and succeed, he will likely end up resenting you, especially as you already had some life experiences on your gap year.

Yea thank you that’s a really good point, i do have a lot of problems with guilt as I’m my previous relationship a few year a ago when I was younger I would cheat and didn’t feel any remorse until I matured and realised how fucked up it was.
I see a councillor just to talk about my anxiety in the relationship and have been dying to speak to her but haven’t been able to as she’s busy until our appointment later today so I’ve just been stewing on this and just throwing apologises at my girlfriend and thinking that the relationship won’t recover as we are very all over each other and have a deep relationship that I haven’t been this trusted before nor have I ruined trust this horribly so just trying to figure out the right approach
