  1. I get that it's totally not the issue here, but interfering with livelihood/the workplace is one method of power and control in domestic violence situations. Just throwing that out there.

  2. before getting lip fillers, i conducted some research and even consulted the beautician beforehand. since initially getting them done, i have yet to get a top up and don’t intend on doing so. my lips have definitely started to reform back to its natural size.

i’m more than aware of the addiction of getting lip fillers, and that is why i refuse to top them up. my main concern is not ending up with ‘fake’ lips that are extremely noticeable.

i’ve always been insecure of my lips, and getting lip fillers gave me confidence in that aspect. however this was 2 years ago when i upheld the maintenance of my appearance to the highest regard, and i have since matured and grown from that mindset. i’m comfortable with how i look now, and that is why i see no need for a top up.

in regards to the compliments he gave me, i genuinely didn’t probe him for any comments more than i usually did. like i said i really cared for my appearance, so probing him for compliments was nothing out of the usual. i just noticed he complimented me more than he usually does.

    thank you for the reply.

  3. I think it's worth noting that even 30 years ago, someone would need to purchase a magazine or a tape to watch/look at porn. If you showed someone from 1990 what is considered “average” in terms of porn consumption today, they would find it shocking. It's no wonder that increased demand, especially for increasingly extreme types, has led to widespread exploitation. I think it also creates a viewer more likely to dehumanize the actors, because the large pool of content makes any particular clip disposable.

I find it a little strange that many people can get to this point, but still think there is something wrong with feeling insecurity over someone viewing this type of content. Porn is pretty damaging to the consumer, it's easy to develop a problem, and it depicts unrealistic scenarios that in many cases feature bodies altered by surgery, addiction, or an eating disorder (or people who are barely out of high school). To think this does nothing (esp paired with the positive reinforcement of orgasm) is naive.

If the posit is that masturbation is a biological need and therefore porn is essential, then you really gotta think critically about how people got that need met in most of the 1900s. If someone has desensitized themselves to the point that they can't masturbate without hardcore porn, that literally is indicative of a problem in and of itself. Eating is a biological need, but I claimed I needed UberEATS or GrubHub to get that need met, well… yeah I could say that, but I'd expect people to point out how ridiculous it was. If I then added, “yes, I need online ordering, but I only order from restaurants that have their own website and their own delivery drivers because the driver gets paid way more fairly than gig drivers,” I think that would be the point that even people who were humoring me because they thought something was wrong with me just told me to shut up.

  4. Girl, people like Beyoncé get cheated on. It’s about the cheater, and something they lack themselves (integrity, for one!) not the partner.

  5. You are right! Everyone knows the quote “it's not mine, abort it!” is practicaly the same as “oh, i can't wait to have this baby, love it already!”.
