I was in a relationship for 3 years with a guy who was verbally abusive, he was cheating on me ,and he would play mind games and try to belittle me any way he could. When I tried to leave him he wouldn't leave me alone. He would come to my job and outside my house and constantly cry beg me to get back together and threat me he will commit suicide because of me. I left my job and found another and i wouldn't come out of my house. At some point he stopped texting and calling but he will pass outside my house pretty often. A year past and we haven't talked and I have obviously moved on with my life . Yesterday it was my birthday and he started texting me that he loves me ,that he wants to see me badly and that he bought me a present. I don't want to see him,and I'm a bit scared. I thought of telling him I moved on so he leaves me alone but I'm afraid of his reaction.

Damn it's wild all y'all out here saying “most guys”… I would never date a man that couldn't trust me to live with or be friends with another man. Hard no. I have many many types of friends in all kinds of bodies and sexualities, and am not gonna let a possessive partner dictate a perfectly safe and easy living situation. Thank goodness I seem to have amazingly dodged all these “mist guys” that keep being referenced.
