He may be so emotionally empty that he just doesn't know. Sometimes, that can cause people to be unable to make relationship decisions. Or any decisions. And pressuring them for answers will just make it worse. Try to be a small emotional presence for him if you want to help him. Try to be upbeat and positive, but not “fake,” you are able. It may not get him back, but it may possibly help him to be less broken (in time).
In my opinion, it’s at least a sign of a lack of trust. If he believes you’re so impressionable that simply being exposed to an open relationship would lead you to cheat, it doesn’t speak well to his trust in your ability to handle yourself.

I’m really really sorry but I also have ptsd and know that when I was suffering bad I had little self esteem and punished myself by being with people who didn’t love or respect me. You don’t love or respect someone you’ve cheated on, you know that. Remember why you are saying essentially “I want to be with a man who doesn’t love and respect me enough not to cheat on me. “ is because that’s what you believe you deserve.
