You're young as hell too and these are your male role models. I mean it's entirely possible that this is just too big for her to empathize with until she experiences similar and that's not totally her fault. But it sounds like the next few weeks are going to be hard for you and I'm just not sure if over-policing yourself or worrying that you'll also lose her is the best. Maybe see if you can take some time to be alone. Not a separation/trial breakup, just ask for a couple weeks alone with check ins here and there or something. She's going to be extra sensitive because it sounds like your response to your dad dying, while understandable, did cross the line of being interpersonally inappropriate for an extended period. You have the right to your own timeline. However it does seem a little bit too soon since you’ve only been to 1 date. If it keeps going peachy, I’d wait to 2-3 more dates to bring that up.
