This was my thought regarding cheating. I usually see this mindset from repeated real/perceived rejection for being a shitty person. They started dating when he was around 19. My guess is he probably tried to branch out once quarantine hit and meeting online, which then became the norm, creates a veil of fake confidence, and still couldn’t find anyone interested in him.
