Is that a bad thing? My wife and I will usually both grab a quick rinse in the shower before bedroom stuff just to get rid of any funk from the day.
Back in my bachelor days I'd obviously shower before a date but I'd still give myself a quick splash in the sink if things were heading in that direction. I just thought of it as a courtesy thing.

I think you need to understand how other industries work. I don’t have time to be interrupted during important meetings and waste my time and that of my colleagues. A standing meeting once a week is common in my profession. A standing meeting with my boss or his boss is ABSOLUTELY more important than a random question on something that could be an email or a conversation some other time.
I’m not suggesting telling her to deal with it would help their marriage. But entertaining what you suggest will most certainly affect his career if it keeps up.
I wouldn’t entertain this suggestion of no closed doors if my husband asked me to. It would tank my career. I imagine OP feels the same way.
