It kinda sounds like he’s testing your concept of yourself as an empathic person and that is bothering you.
Is there any particular reason why you need to be empathetic in the first place?
You can decide for yourself how much the crying, in and of itself, is a dealbreaker. That’s a personal matter for yourself.
But it does sound like a lot of your stress stems from feeling like you ought to feel sad for him when he cries but you just don’t.
