This happens to me too. It's my biggest pet peeve only because my wife used to tell me that I was the one doing this to her all the time. I just drop whatever I'm trying to say. I know it's petty, but usually I become less responsive in any subsequent conversation. I'll tune out and feign acknowledgement with those “oh wow” or “that's crazy” kind of expression. Maybe I'll read something on this post that helps me with a more healthy response, but in the meantime, I feel like the reciprocity is fair.
Nagging is a word that weaponizes an inability to accept accountability, primaraly used against women.
So, stop seeing yourself as a “nag” and start understanding that this is a problem with him not following through with agreements, not you wanting them followed.
