1. Ok, couple of things. You guys need to read up on and figure out what your love languages are. Sounds like yours are gifts/quality time and his are NOT. Once you figure that out, he will need to put more effort into actually speaking your love language. Also, keep in mind it is likely that you’re not speaking his either. Do you get the reactions you want to see when you gift and do the things for him? If he doesn’t seem as excited as you, there is your clue. So you’re both missing the mark, it sounds like.

   Now, he’s 36, it’s unlikely this will get better. It’s worth a try and the key will be to get him to REALLY understand how important actually speaking your love language is.

   BUT, if he doesn’t care to learn and put forth effort, then that’s actually a really big problem. And also, since your gift giving doesn’t seem to be the thing he wants/enjoys then maybe do something small for Christmas and go from there. Until at least you guys figure things out.
