It could be. But I still find that a struggle to believe. The only viable reason I can conjure is if he didn’t clean the leftover junk from his nose before his next line…and was, in a sense, forced to blow his nose.
You don’t have a diagnosis, so don’t shit the bed just yet. Of course tell her that you are scared it might be cancer and that you want to see her. She can come visit you/move back after her trip if it does turn out to be a cancer diagnosis. Maybe you can video call and keep good communication during her trip, or as you mentioned, maybe she can cut it short if the news is particularly bad.
Do you have any local friends or family who can support you in the meantime? Remember this is a long distance relationship so visiting regularly be challenging for her. Unfortunately in long distance relationships it’s nearly impossible for a partner to show up at your beckon call. How long have you two been together?
I hope it works, but I think his problem is that he can't cope with the fact that you don't need to be with him all the time. I hope he would enjoy a weekend with his daughter, but it doesn't address that insecurity. He's just not as emotionally well adjusted as you OP.

Stop thinking about you and start thinking about your child. Trust me, this will help with depression.
Stop regretting. You are where you are. Consider how lucky you are to have a child. This is your legacy. When you are in your 40s, you will still be young and this child will be grown up. You will be young enough to enjoy your grandchildren if you are so lucky.
